Mineral resources in Yogyakarta Special Region Province, which are Group C minerals, are include sand, gravel, limestone, kalsit, kaolin, and zeolit and breksi pumice. Type C minerals spread out in 4 regencies, i.e: Sleman Regency, Bantul Regency, Kulon Progo Regency, and Gunungkidul Regency. Beside the Group C minerals, there are minerals in the form of Group A mineral (coal in a very limited number), and the Group B minerals as Sand Iron (Fe), Mangan (Mn), Barit (Ba), and Gold (Au); located at District of Kulon Progo. The existence of these mineral resources, are potentials that can be utilized. The management of the ultilization, however, needs to pay attention to the environmental sustainability. The number of deposit of several types of mineral materials are 5,992,597,541 m3 of sand-stone, 34,806 m3 of phosphate, 273,000,000 tons of iron sand, 4,406,206 m3 of bentonite, 392,194,052 m3 of zeolite, 8876336655 m3 of kaolin, and 18522. 921,224 m3 of limestone. In Yogyakarta investment opportunities, mining sector offers 1  project namely mining of mineral Group C which is located in Gunung Kidul Regency.
